Yes, absolutely! All of our classes are designed for beginners, and no prior experience is needed.

Each class is independent, so you’re welcome to start with any experience that feels right for you. Whether that’s our 1-hour, 2-hour, or 3-hour class, you can also take them in any order, or just choose the one that best fits your interest. There’s no right or wrong way to begin!

At Love Links Studio, our goal is for you to feel like you’re truly creating your jewelry from start to finish. You’ll be fully guided through each step of the process in a very hands-on way. Our instructors are right there with you, demonstrating, assisting, and walking you through every part of the experience. At the same time, we want you to feel ownership over what you create. You’ll leave feeling like you did about 90% of the work yourself, with our team stepping in to support, guide, or take over only when needed. Whether you want close instruction or a bit more independence as you work, we meet you where you’re at.

No matter which class you choose, we’re here to make sure you feel comfortable, confident, and proud of what you make!

Each of our classes offers a slightly different experience, but all are beginner friendly and fully guided.

Our 1-hour class is a great introduction to metalsmithing and perfect if you’re looking to try something new in a short, hands-on session. The 2-hour class gives you more time to explore and the option to create more than one piece. Our 3-hour class is our most in-depth experience, where you’re guided step-by-step through the full process of creating a finished piece like a ring, pendant, cuff, or bangle from start to finish.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, here are a few things to keep in mind before attending your workshop:

• Dress for safety: Avoid overly baggy or loose clothing to prevent any hazards while working with tools and materials.
• Glasses are important! If you wear glasses, be sure to bring them so you can see every detail of your work. (Forgot yours? No worries—we have reading glasses available for use)
• Tie your hair back. We love creativity, but let's keep the fun focused on your jewelry, not surprises from loose hair near tools and flames.
   

Our workshops are fully hands-on, meaning you'll actively shape, solder, and set your jewelry using real silversmithing tools. As part of the process, we will be working with torches, sharp tools, and other professional equipment, so care and attention are essential. Our experienced instructors will guide you through each step, ensuring you feel confident and comfortable handling the tools.

Safety is our top priority, and we'll provide all necessary instructions to help you create your piece with confidence. By staying focused and following our guidance, you'll have a fun, engaging, and safe experience as you craft something truly unique!

Yes! A lot of our guests do. Our studio is a friendly, guided space, and you’ll feel comfortable whether you come alone or with others.

Nope! We love hosting students of all ages—from kids under 13 to adults over 65. That said, because our classes involve torches, sharp tools, and other metalsmithing equipment, they aren’t suitable for very young children. If you’re unsure about age suitability, feel free to reach out and we’ll help clarify!

Yes! We host private parties for all kinds of occasions, including birthdays, bridal showers, girls’ nights, corporate events, and team-building experiences.

We kindly ask you to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled class time to check in, get settled, and select your materials before we begin. Our instructor-led classes start promptly at the scheduled class time so everyone receives the full demonstration and instruction together. Arriving early helps ensure you have plenty of time to get comfortable and are ready to begin creating when class starts.

Our Intro to Metalsmithing class is a one-hour, hands-on metalsmithing experience where you'll create your own sterling silver or gold-filled ring from raw metal with guidance from our experienced instructors. Whether you're trying jewelry making for the first time or simply looking for a fun, creative experience, this class is designed for all experience levels.

What you'll make:

• One custom-fit ring in sterling silver or gold-filled 
• Learn how to size, solder, shape, and polish your ring from start to finish 
• Leave with a handcrafted piece made entirely by you 

Pricing:

• $45 Class Fee (includes instruction, studio tools, and equipment) 
• Materials are priced separately based on your metal choice and design 
• Most participants spend between $20–$60 on materials 

Who can take this class? 

This class is beginner-friendly and open to adults and teens. No prior experience is necessary—we'll guide you through each step of the process. Due to the use of torches and jewelry-making tools, the class may not be suitable for young children. If you have questions about age requirements, we'd be happy to help!

How it works:

We'll guide you through every step, from sizing and soldering to shaping and polishing your ring. This one-hour class is perfect for date nights, girls' outings, trying something new, or creating a meaningful piece you'll wear for years to come.

Our Stack Class  is a two-hour, hands-on metalsmithing experience where you'll create 2–3 rings or bangle bracelets in sterling silver or gold-filled. With extra time at the bench, you'll be able to personalize your jewelry using textures, stamping, oxidizing, and thicker band options to create pieces that reflect your personal style.

What you'll make:

• 2–3 rings or bangle bracelets (or both!) in sterling silver or gold-filled 
• Personalize your jewelry with textures, stamping, oxidizing, and thicker band options 
• Learn how to size, solder, shape, and polish your jewelry from start to finish

• $75 Class Fee (includes instruction, studio tools, and equipment)

Our From Scratch class is our most customizable jewelry-making experience. In this immersive three-hour workshop, you'll create a one-of-a-kind jewelry piece in sterling silver or gold-filled while learning how to bezel-set a genuine gemstone. From shaping and soldering to setting your stone, our instructors will guide you through every step of the process.

No experience required!

This class is designed for all experience levels. Whether it's your first time working with metal or you're looking to create something truly unique, we'll guide you through every step with hands-on instruction.

What you'll make: 

• One custom jewelry piece in sterling silver or gold-filled 
• Learn how to shape, solder, polish, and bezel-set a genuine gemstone 
• Choose from a variety of projects, including:

  • Bolo ties

Pricing:

• $95 Class Fee (includes expert instruction and use of all studio tools) 
• Gemstones start at $30, which includes the silver needed for your project 
• Additional customization options, including different band styles, bezel styles, and embellishments, are available for an additional fee 
• Most participants spend between $80–$150, depending on the gemstone selected and any customizations added during class 
• Payment for materials is made in person at the end of the workshop 

Gemstones:

Choose from our curated collection of high-quality, genuine gemstones, carefully sourced for their beauty and durability. Want to bring your own stone? You're welcome to! Outside stones may be used for an additional setting fee (varies by size). Please note that all stones must be cabochons (flat-backed) and free of cracks to be suitable for bezel setting. If you're unsure whether your stone will work, feel free to contact us before your class.

Who can take this class?

This class is beginner-friendly and open to adults and teens. No previous experience is required. Due to the use of torches and jewelry-making tools, the class may not be suitable for young children. If you have questions about age requirements, we'd be happy to help!

Class reservations are non-refundable, but they may be rescheduled up to 48 hours before your scheduled class time. You can easily reschedule your reservation using the link in your confirmation email, or you're welcome to contact us directly and we'd be happy to assist. If you're unable to attend, your reservation is also transferable, so you're welcome to send a friend or family member in your place.

If you are running late, please give us a call as soon as possible. Because our classes are instructor-led and begin promptly, late arrivals may miss important instruction. Depending on when you arrive, we may not be able to accommodate participation, and missed classes or no-shows are non-refundable. We understand that unexpected emergencies can happen. If you're experiencing an extenuating circumstance, please reach out to us as soon as possible. We'll always do our best to accommodate you whenever we can.
